Membership Account Requirements
You must have an Institute of Catholic Culture membership account to access most of our resources, classes, and other content. As part of our membership account we utilize several methods of gathering information regarding website interactions. The methods and purposes of this information gathering are described below.
The Institute utilizes several methods of tracking website interactions including pages visited, clicked content (e.g., videos watched), event tracking (e.g., registrations, logins), donations made, as well as Institute email engagement statistics. In order to gather this information we utilize some third party tools such as Google Analytics and ActiveCampaign. We also implement our own event tracking and website cookies. Our website cookies are only used to identify members who have logged into our website and for the purposes described below. Further, our cookies will not be used to gather information on any actions taken outside of Institute of Catholic Culture websites and email campaigns.
Please note that while we sometimes utilize third party tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track these website interactions, we do NOT share or sell your personally identifiable information (PII) with Google, advertising partners, or any other third party. In regard to Google Analytics we track individual website interactions using a random user identifier which cannot be used to identify you outside of the Institute’s private systems.
We utilize this information to measure the effectiveness of our website design, engagement with website content, and to determine how to best serve our members’ educational needs. We may at times use your website actions to determine which Institute classes or resources to recommend to you and personalize your experience.
Right to be Forgotten
If you decide that you no longer wish to have a membership account with the Institute you can delete your account at any time. To delete your account you may log in and use the delete account feature in your member profile, send us a message through our contact form, or email our staff.
When your account is deleted we will remove any personally identifiable information from our systems with the exception of donation records which we are required by law to retain. Our systems may also retain some event behavior, but any event information will be anonymized and no longer linked to your personal identity in any way. Membership account deletions performed through the member profile will usually be completed immediately; however, in some cases account deletions may require a staff member to complete. The Institute reserves the right to take up to 30 days to process any requests for account deletion.
Right to Your Information
You may at any time request a copy of the information that the Institute has gathered regarding your interactions with Institute of Catholic Culture websites and emails. The Institute reserves the right to take up to 30 days to process any requests for account information, and the right to determine the format in which that information will be delivered.
Any requests for information MUST occur prior to account deletion. If you delete your account your personally identifiable information will be purged and no longer available. Do not attempt or request an account deletion prior to receiving any requested data from the Institute.
